California’s landmark Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) requires the state’s major investor-owned utilities to get 20% of their power from renewable sources by 2017. Consistent with the Governor’s Environmental Action Plan, SB 107 (Simitian) would speed up the RPS requirement to 20% by 2010.
